AIMI is not for a first-time home buyer or refinancer. In fact, I would hesitate to use them on a purchase loan at all, since they tend to run late on funding. (We’ve closed 3 loans with them.) However, if you know what you’re doing and you have your paperwork in order, for refinance transactions, they’re the lowest cost money around. We have multiple rental properties and are self-employed, so loans are always a mess for us, but AIM has been able to do it 3 times now.
As I said, you have to know what you’re doing and be willing to push a little. If you want hand-holding, go pay an extra 2-3 points to use your local mortgage banker instead. However, if you want the lowest cost money available, AIM is the place to go.
I found Home Finance of America on Zillow, and decided to apply with them because of how many great reviews were listed. It only took 15 minutes, and I closed in about three weeks. I paid no fees, but got the same rate other companies were offering with high lender fees! I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a mortgage loan
I used Close Your Own Loan.com and Peoples Bank to purchase my new home and the process was great. They closed my loan right on time and the people there were so friendly and knowledgable. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.
